How do I Register My Group for a Festival?

There are two ways to register for an ADFA event: You can download the forms and send them by fax or mail to your regional representative, or you can fill out an electronic copy of the forms here: https://adfa.ca/about/registration-and-forms/

Once I Register Online, Is my Registration Complete?

No. To complete your registration, you must submit any fees and have your registration approved by your regional representative or another ADFA Director. The ADFA will work with you to ensure that a complete application is submitted and that a successful registration has been made.

What Happens if My Group is Selected at the Regional Level?

You will then be eligable to come to the ADFA Provincial One Act Festival to represent your region with a certain subset of your expenses eligable to be covered.

How long can the play be?

All entries must have a running time of at least 10 minutes and not more than 60 minutes.

Who do I contact to enter a play into an ADFA festival?

The regional reps can assist with entries and provide rules for the participants. Contact info for all of the reps can be found here.

What does it cost to register?

The fee to enter is $25.00, which will also make you a member of ADFA.

Is there an award for original scripts?

Yes, at both the regional and provincial levels, provided that there are at least 2 original script entries. These awards are sponsored by the Alberta Theatre Network.
