The Foothills 2016 Regional Festival

The Foothills 2016 Regional Festival was held on April 21st and April 22nd in Beautiful Canmore AB

Hosted by Pine Tree Players (Canmore) and held at the quaint Minors Union Hall. The weekend was Adjudicated by Stephen Hair. 15 Plays were entered from several areas of the region, including Canmore, Okotoks, High River, Nanton, Strathmore and Cochrane. The winners are as follows:

Best Actor: Jeremy White, Canmore, Pine Tree Players
Best Actress: Cathy Cox, Cochrane, Vision Theatre
Best Production: My Narrator, Canmore, Pine Tree Players
Best New Work: Melanie Desroches playwright of Ada and Eric, Canmore, Pine Tree Players
Best Director: Lauren Zulyniak, Strathmore Theatre Players Guild (For Whom The Southern Belle Tolls)

Runner Up/Honourable Mention went to "The Daughters of Edward D Boit" by Pine Tree Players

Outstanding Director went to Elizabeth Green of Pine Tree Players for "The Daughters of Edward D Boit".
Runner Up/Honourable Mention went to Pamela Milthorp of Pine Tree Players for "The Death of Me".

Outstanding Male Actor went to Steve Buoninsegni of Dewdney Players for the role of "Lee" in "Heart in the Ground".
Runner Up/Honourable Mention went to Wade Graham of Pine Tree Players for the role of "John Adderly" in "The Death of Me".

Outstanding Female Actor went to Jessica Caldwell of Pine Tree Players for the role of "Florence" in "The Daughters of Edward D Boit".
Runner Up/Honourable Mention went to Florence Maione of Dewdney Players for the role of "Karen" in "Heart in the Ground".

The Alberta Playwrights Network Award for Best New Script by an Alberta Playwright went to Robin McKittrick of Nose Creek Players for "Depending Whether the Darkness Deepens".
