2023 Cypress Regional One Act Festival

Congratulations to all our participants and winners of the 2023 One Act Festival. It was a fantastic night. Thank you to our community for coming out and supporting local arts.

Our esteemed adjudicator: Mrs. Jean Taylor
Jean has been active in theatre for over 50 years in England and Canada with adult and school drama. Jean adjudicates adult Community Theatre festivals as well as the Saskatchewan Drama Association (schools) festivals. She has facilitated workshops for both adults and students. Jean (an award winning actor) also directs (plays and musicals) and helps with set design and painting when she is directing. She also has fun costuming plays and musicals and helps to look after the extensive Regina Little Theatre/Regina Summer Stage costume shop. Jean has appeared in three films, one sit-com episode and has done ads for TV and radio. In 2000 Jean was the recipient of Theatre Saskatchewan's 'Lifetime Achievement' Award and was inducted into the Theatre Saskatchewan Hall of Fame in 2006. At present Jean is in rehearsal for the play Marjorie Prime by Jordan Harrison, where she is playing the role of Marjorie Prime. Jean looks forward to adjudicating this festival and to meeting a whole new set of theatre friends.

Cypress Region received one entry for the One Act Festival, from Fancy Trash Productions. They were able to attend the Lethbridge Festival and they performed Nine by Jane Shepard, they will be taking their entry to Provincials.
